Regenerating People and Planet
We believe the regeneration of the Earth begins with remembering that we were never separate from her.
Opus Gaia Foundation exists to restore the living relationship between people and planet — reconnecting humanity with soil, water, plants, community, purpose, and the intelligence of nature.
Through regenerative education, youth stewardship, land-based learning, plant literacy, water stewardship, and applied research, we are cultivating a new generation of Earth stewards equipped to care for themselves, one another, and the living world.
Inhale Nature. Remember Your Nature.
Inhale Nature is the movement that flows through all of our work — an invitation to return to relationship with the living world and remember that human well-being and planetary well-being are inseparable.
Through Opus Gaia Foundation, that invitation becomes action.
A Living Movement for Regeneration
We are living at a threshold.
Young people are navigating unprecedented levels of stress, disconnection, uncertainty, and loss of belonging. At the same time, our soil, water, biodiversity, food systems, and intergenerational knowledge are under increasing pressure.
These are not separate crises.
They reveal a deeper separation — from ourselves, from one another, and from the living intelligence of the Earth.

Opus Gaia Foundation was created to help restore that relationship.
We believe something profound happens when a young person places their hands in living soil, learns the story of a plant, understands the journey of water, tends a garden, develops tools for self-regulation, listens to the wisdom of elders, and discovers that their presence can contribute meaningfully to their community.
- Stewardship becomes identity.
- Nature becomes relationship.
- Learning becomes embodiment.
- And regeneration becomes possible.
Where People and Planet Learn to Thrive Together
Our work brings together two foundational pathways:
Gaia Gardens
Where the Earth Becomes the Teacher
Gaia Gardens are living classrooms rooted in soil, water, biodiversity, food, pollinators, medicinal and aromatic plants, and community.
Here, young people and communities learn regeneration through direct relationship with the land — planting, tending, harvesting, composting, conserving water, supporting pollinators, and experiencing firsthand the intelligence of living systems.
Each garden becomes more than a growing space.
It becomes a place of belonging, nourishment, education, restoration, research, and remembrance.
Gaia Gardens are designed to become replicable community nodes of regeneration — rooted locally and connected through a shared philosophy of stewardship.
Young Alchemists Lab™
Growing the Next Generation of Earth Stewards
Young Alchemists Lab™ is our place-based youth education and leadership pathway for adolescents and teens.
Each cohort begins with a plant.
Not simply as something to study, but as a doorway into ecology, culture, nourishment, sensory awareness, resilience, reciprocity, and relationship.
Young people learn to grow, observe, harvest, create, collaborate, reflect, and contribute.
Along the way, they develop ecological literacy alongside practical tools for self-awareness, nervous system resilience, emotional regulation, creativity, leadership, and community contribution.
The program draws from youth-adapted Modern Alchemy™ and Tactical Alchemy™ practices while remaining inclusive, nonsectarian, age-appropriate, and grounded in direct experience with nature.
Gaia Gardens cultivates the landscape.
Young Alchemists Lab cultivates the steward.
The Opus Gaia Community Campus
A Home for the First Living Prototype
Our next chapter is taking root in Western North Carolina.
Opus Gaia Foundation is building the pathway toward the Opus Gaia Community Campus — a home for the first integrated expression of Gaia Gardens and Young Alchemists Lab.
The Community Campus is envisioned as a living laboratory where youth, families, educators, farmers, herbalists, beekeepers, researchers, wellness practitioners, volunteers, and community partners can learn and contribute together.
It will create space for:
- Regenerative gardens and soil stewardship
- Young Alchemists Lab cohorts
- Medicinal and aromatic plant education
- Food and nutrition literacy
- Beekeeping and pollinator stewardship
- Water conservation and watershed education
- Community gathering and education
- Nature-based resilience practices
- Applied research and program evaluation
- Facilitator and educator training
The intention is not simply to create one beautiful place.
It is to root, document, and refine a model that can eventually take root in other communities.
The Young Alchemists Journey
Awaken. Anchor. Actualize.
Young Alchemists Lab™ helps young people move from curiosity into relationship, and from relationship into stewardship.
Awaken
Youth awaken curiosity, sensory awareness, self-awareness, plant connection, and relationship to place.
Anchor
They develop rhythm, responsibility, nourishment, emotional regulation, ecological literacy, and daily stewardship practices.
Actualize
They bring their learning into expression through creativity, leadership, storytelling, service, botanical education, and community contribution.
This is not simply education about nature.
It is education through relationship with nature.
Seed to Shelf Labs™
From Relationship to Reciprocity
Seed to Shelf Labs™ is the applied creation and exchange pathway within Young Alchemists Lab.
Youth experience the full cycle of stewardship — from soil and seed to harvest, creation, storytelling, and exchange.
They may create age-appropriate, claims-safe botanical and educational offerings such as teas, infused oils, aromatic sachets, seed packets, plant education cards, botanical art, or community care kits.
But the lesson is larger than the product.
Young people learn that what we receive from the Earth carries responsibility.
They learn ethical harvesting, safety, labeling, creativity, communication, reciprocity, and the economics of generosity.
Offerings may be shared through community exhibitions, educational events, donation-based exchange, barter, and future exchanges between Young Alchemists cohorts.
The goal is not mass production.
It is relationship transformed into contribution.
Plant Wisdom + Applied Research
Honoring Wisdom. Building Evidence.
Opus Gaia Foundation stands at an important intersection: honoring traditional and experiential plant knowledge while building responsible, evidence-informed educational practices for the future.
Our Herbal and Aromatic Research Track documents the educational, ecological, sensory, cultural, and wellness-literacy dimensions of plant-based learning.
Areas of exploration may include:
- Local plant dossiers
- Herbal and aromatic safety education
- Sensory and aromatic observation
- Growing and cultivation records
- Youth reflections and program evaluation
Community feedback
Research-informed educational resources
Collaboration with qualified researchers and institutions
Our research is educational, non-clinical, and claims-safe.
We seek to ask better questions, document what we learn, protect cultural knowledge, and share insights responsibly.
Inhale Nature
A Movement of Remembrance
Inhale Nature is more than a phrase.
It is the thread connecting the entire Opus Gaia ecosystem.
It asks us to remember that we do not stand outside nature looking in.
We are nature.
The breath in our lungs, the water in our bodies, the minerals in our bones, the plants that nourish and support us, and the ecosystems that sustain our communities are part of one living continuum.
Across our brands and initiatives, Inhale Nature takes different forms.
Through Adora Winquist, it becomes personal transformation and embodied consciousness.
Through The Soul Institute, it becomes education and transformational experience.
Through MilSpec Formulas and Tactical Alchemy, it becomes practical resilience and sensory regulation.
Through our botanical and aromatic work, it becomes direct relationship with plant intelligence.
And through Opus Gaia Foundation, it becomes stewardship, public benefit, youth leadership, land regeneration, and community action.
Inhale Nature means remembering relationship — and living accordingly.
The Wisdom Behind the Work
Opus Gaia Foundation is the nonprofit expression of a body of work developed over more than three decades by founder Dorothy Soule, known professionally as Adora Winquist.
Adora is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, educator, retreat leader, aromatherapy formulator, and pioneer in vibrational medicine and sensory-based transformation. Her work has long explored the relationship between plant intelligence, nervous system regulation, embodied awareness, personal transformation, and conscious living. Her current biography also identifies her as the founder of the Inhale Nature movement and creator of Modern Alchemy™ and other sensory-based methodologies.
She previously founded and grew Adoratherapy and has led transformational education, global retreats, trainings, and curriculum through The Soul Institute and her wider body of work.
Opus Gaia Foundation represents the next evolution of that lineage:
moving from individual transformation toward intergenerational and planetary regeneration.
